Sub-Realism Artistic Movement - TREESKULLTOWN Manifest

MANIFEST: Sub-Realism

We, visionary artists, come together to proclaim the advent of a new artistic movement: Sub-Realism. This creative movement is characterized by the addition of a layer of subconscious drawing on the canvases of museum masters.

Fundamental Principles

  1. The Subversion of the Original Work

We reject the idea that works of art are sacred and immutable entities. We believe that art must be alive, evolve, and transform itself with the greatest respect for the masters who created these works and the institutions that exhibit them.

This subversion is not intended to be provocative for the sake of provocation, but to awaken a more global awareness of art and thereby make culture accessible to the greatest number of people, regardless of their origins or social status.

  2. Expression of the Subconscious

We seek to unleash the creative forces of the subconscious, allowing our instincts and emotions to guide our artistic process.

  3. Fusion of Styles

We combine the techniques and styles of the old masters with our own contemporary vision, creating a new hybrid art form.

  4. Questioning Authority

We challenge the idea that museums and art institutions are the sole holders of artistic truth. We believe that art should be democratic and accessible to all.

Methods and Techniques:

  1. Layering:

We layer our subconscious drawings on the masters’ canvases, creating a new layer of meaning and significance.

  2. Experimentation:

We experiment with different techniques and materials to create unique and innovative works.

  3. Collaboration:

We work in collaboration with other artists, curators, gallery owners, collectors, critics and theorists to create an open and stimulating dialogue.

Goals:

  1. Renewing Art:

We seek to renew art by making it more alive, more emotional and more accessible.

  2. Challenging Conventions:

We challenge artistic conventions and institutional expectations to create a freer and more authentic art.

  3. Creating a New Language:

We create a new artistic language that combines elements of the past with the concerns of the present.

Call to Action:

  1. We invite all artists, collectors, curators, critics and art lovers

to join our movement and participate in creating new art that is freer, more innovative and more authentic. Together, we can create art that reflects the complexity and richness of the human experience.

  2. We also believe, and above all, that digital art is a universal form of expression, accessible and enjoyable by all.

We encourage artists to create works that can be easily shared with the world, in the form of GIF, JPEG, MP4, hybridization between traditional and digital art, or even publication as NFT (non-fungible token). This NFT technology allows the work to be digitally stamped in an unalterable way, thus providing irrefutable proof of the anteriority and the inalienable right of the artist on his creation. This opens up exciting new possibilities for contemporary art. We invite all creators to explore these new digital mediums in order to share their artistic vision with as many people as possible, in a spirit of openness and accessibility.
